NOW if he would just get the nerve up to start jumping the sex-links too they would quit picking on him! :rolleyes:

what do wise ones :old think of his conformation? He's now a full 6 months old in the pic

I am not a wise one ...but I think he is nice..he still needs to mature a little more ..short tail feathers ..
He should start mating with the hens soon ..they are older than him ? so he might wait a little bit

Oops, sorry. Guess I was a bit too subtle. He is breeding ( thus now a young man) he is just still running from my three sex-links hens (who are a few months older but the ones he is breeding are years older) and since he is now twice their size it is really funny to watch him being chased by the little hens.

Don't worry about him. One of these days soon, he'll stop, whirl around and grab one of 'em and get her in a 'neck hold' if you will.

EDITED: My Australorp pullets have started to lay today...pitiful. If I were a Newbie, I'd consider slaughtering the whole lot!!
