Aww, thank you! That's my little guy. I have a 24 yo stepson and this fella, who's 4. So I could very well be a grandma anytime now. Lol But I prefer to wait! (for his sake)

Hello fellow Austrolorp owners! I will be getting my first Austrolorp chicks, along with some Americanas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ya
Ok, I'm ok, I'm ok. Keep just keep calm.
Ok I would to buy a gray Austrolorp chick or anything else beside plain black. How do I know what that kind of chick will look like? Thanks!

I have not seen Blue Australorps from Hatcheries.

These came from Hupp Farms:

Can you see the difference between the Blue and Black?

Um yes but I don't know which ones which. Also I'm getting them at a local feed store, they come in on Friday so I get the pick of the hatch?

If you click on the picture, it will expand. Look for the blue one in the middle. It is the biggest one and is a Cockerel.

Edited to add: You will not find one like this at the feed store. If you see chicks that look like that one, they will not be an Australorp.

Have fun getting the chicks! It is so exciting to bring them home.

Are "Blue" Australorps different from Black Australorps? Or is it just the color? And what about splash, etc.?
They are different. Blue Orpingtons were used to get the Blue and then they were bred to get the Australorp type to Standard.

They are Blue Genetics, so breeding the different colors will get:

morning everyone

my little ladies at 6 weeks outside in their playpen yesterday. Tomorrow they move to their
growout cage inside the big girls coop, It has it's own pophole and run where they can all
see each other but still say safe. Oh, and of course they wouldn't show off their pretty new
flaired tails whenever I pointed the camera!
