Do you have others from the same batch to compare with this one? Early Tail development is usually a pullet if it is longer. The legs are big but there are not wattles.

The chick does look like a cockerel though.

Stan, I have tried to contact Bob since his accident just to see how he is doing but have not had any luck as of today.
When I talk to him again it is on my list of thing to talk to him about. He has gone through a few surgeries and I hope he has turned a corner.

MeanV Dan is right, I asked the wrong Dan. It's been so long since I've heard from the WVDan that my old brain got confused. I hope you will post some picks of your chicks. I am interested to watch them grow. You have a line that I am not familiar with. They are from North Carolina, and that is close enough that I could drive there on my way to WestbyGodVirginia....

The legs so look like a boy to me, but the tails on my females come in before the boys, and I wouldn't call that a cockerel comb yet either.....stan

Thanks for the catch Dan! I didn't realize till recently that Bob was hot that hard. The way I heard it it was a parking lot accident, and I just assumed that someone 'bumped' into him, knocked him down and he broke his leg somehow. Sounds like it is much more serious..... hope to hear good news about his recovery.........stan
