My Aussies are 21 weeks old today...still no eggs, but based on their reddening faces they must be getting close.

Sweet girls! Just wait... When they decide to, they'll all start laying within a day or two of each other (assuming they are age-mates), and you'll run out of egg cartons before you know it!

When I told her we had to break her, she got REALLY unhappy.

One is. The others...not so much. I'm just really anxious for my first fresh eggs from my first flock.

They usually lay the first egg within two weeks of squatting. Look for them exploring the nest box next. That is a day or two from the first egg.

It will be great when you get that first egg!
