if they end up being good i might keep the roos and breed them. the only problem I have is that i live in the city.....

I set some this morning. 2 dozen Aloha eggs and 3 white Silkie eggs. I am doing a dry hatch. How many of you do dry hatches? I am also thinking about using cardboard cartons to put the eggs in during lockdown. Anyone doing this? Good luck!

Yesterday my silkie, Lizzie, decided to set on a group of eggs from various hens. She is really young, so I don't know if she will "sit it out" or not... This is only the second day. Can't wait!

Bantam Marans? Sounds wonderful! If they pan out, I would love to buy eggs next spring to hatch. Good luck!

Oh i would LOOOVE selling bantam marans eggs.... BUT I dont have mine yet. I think you missed that. haha!

even just me getting eggs is difficult.... but i will definitely keep you in mind for the future,

I have candled mine, but I cant see anything! they are Marans eggs, so they are really dark. They were shipped in so I cant wait to see if they are developing! Congrats on yours! I hope that they do good! I have a bunch of eggs due to hatch the 10th of October, and I can see the little babies wiggling around in those! It is so much fun!

I candled one of my eggs this morning. I could see a heart beating!!! I plan on candling all of the eggs on Friday. Are any of you doing dry hatches??

i'm trying a dry(er) hatch this time around because my last hatch was too humid and i had a lot of bloated babies, and some didnt make it. this time my humidity is going to be +35% humidity until the last few days when i will bump it up to 70%. what are you doing?

My humidity is staying between 32-35%. I have lost babies in the past during lockdown because of the humidity being too high. I am thinking I may try 60-65% at lockdown. How does that sound?

Has anyone ever used egg cartons when hatching???
