AUTUMNAL EQUINOX 9/23/2010 set this morning- 34 eggs! anyone with me??

i love those blue barred cochins. very cute! i love cochins they are so fun. i think they (adults) run so funnily! probably because they have the huge cushiony tails

here are some pics of MY babies... so far there are 13 chicks.

of silkies; 3 partridge , 1 buff, 1 white and 1 black! hope there are more when i get home from work! one buff egg was pipping when i left at 730am.

they look exhausted in the first few pictures! They are so much cuter all fluffy!

I went home at lunch and found that the one that had pipped was out, still pretty wet and wobbly though so left him/her in the bator longer! No one else is pipped yet, so we will see. I am just happy to have 1 hatch! They were shipped eggs, and had a rough delivery. Then we have had temperature issues, so one baby is a success in my book! I have 3 more than I am hopeful for, so we will see if anyone comes out tonight. I have 4 BBS standard cochins due to start hatching tomorrow...I am so excited!

OMG! I feel like an adoptive mother seeing my child for the first time. I am getting TWO of those cuties this weekend! Yay for me. The Silkies poofy heads are just so cute and the Ameraucanas look like they have purple fur instead of feathers.

haha yes! we just discovered a new buff silkie (that makes 2 buffs). only 4 silkie eggs left in the incubator. and the one amoeba ameraucana egg... which i have only not candled because of the other eggs being in lockdown. i am hoping the remaining hatch but i am not sure if they will or not. for some reason the new silkie doesnt have black beak or feet. pink. really strange! it is still really cute though.

i like buff silkies hehe

Here they are!!!

So far 22 babies this week and 3 Partridge Cochins on the way!! They are the last but certainly not least in the incubator! The BCM that is still does not look like it is going to hatch...

Very happy with the 8 that did though!

Here are the Black Australorps..8 hatched. They look almost like the Blk Copper Marans..except they have PINK toes and the Marans have YELLOW toes..how cute!

Here are the Barnevelders..2 Bantams and 4 Standards hatched...They all hatched wee hours of this morning through the day. So they are still glued and have not fluffed up yet..still cute!!!

Wow! Look at all the cuties!
My 'Equinox Hatch' is done and I have lots of chicks in incubators.
I was pleasantly surprised. I left the incubator dry, completely dry, the first 18 days and only added minimal water on Day 19. Don't know what the humidity was in there, but house humidity is usually around 45%.
Need to move them to a brooder this morning.

Sorry I got in this thread so late. I just had a hatch, 7 out of 8 Blue Splash Marans chicks!

Wow, am I psyched!

Best mail order hatch this year. 10 eggs, two clears and the rest made it to lockdown. The one that didn't hatch was a quitter at day 10 or so.

Is anyone else tired?!

Feels like newborns are in the house again for sure!....Not quite like it was with my children, but definitely around the clock checking on eggs and chicks for the last week.

On another note, has anyone used zip ties before as leg bands? There are 2 that hatched from our Marans outside and they are starting to blend too much with the ones from those that hatched from the breeders eggs. Nail polish did not last long!...not sure that the fumes are too safe either. I am considering using them. Please let me know your thoughts, thanks!
