Baby Brahma not friendly…. Did I get a bad chick?

Good idea! I think I’m looming from above. That’s scary! I’ll switch it up. I’ve also been taking them out and having them out and sitting with me on the floor. I just hope I didn’t scare them for life!
Don't worry, they will forgive you :) Even my friendliest lap chickens took time to warm up and start sitting on us. Some took a few days, some a few weeks and one took months. Our silver leghorn didn't start hopping on laps until she was around 8 months old.
Keep offering them food from your hand and they will come around. Sitting with them on the floor is perfect too. Keep in mind that each one is an individual and some will never be lap chickens. Some will be content to just sit beside you or nearby without touching.
With time, you will get to know them and they will get to know you. Warning, eventually, they will be able to tell when you want to pick them up for cuddles or for things like medical checks. They will stay still for cuddles and run from medical checks😂

Good advice thank you

Granted we are only on day 2 with our brand new baby chicks. I got light brahmas and spotted Sussex. Heard the brahmas are so kind and loving. They are running away from me and don’t like to be held. They are eating well and active. Seem scared. I am being super gentle and kind. Am I doing something wrong or is it just too early! Anyone know why these chicks are timid.
My 10 week olds are just as spoiled as our two BR that are also 10. I trained them with mealworms or what I call chicken crack. Now when I walk into the run I have 6 chickens run to greet me, 2 Brahmas, 2 BRs and 2 cockerels which are EEs. The other 9 watch the 6 for visual cues and are the second wave of greeters.
Both of the Brahmas like to be scooped from the front and then stare at me when I don't produce mealworms or cracked corn. One whines like I'm abusing it for not producing food.
Be patient with them. They'll catch on that you have their best interest at heart and then you won't be able to get rid of them.

Hopeful advice I needed
