Baby chick abandoned by mama after it was startled!!!

We just had a surprise 7th chick hatch on us! The other 6 are a week old today. The mama was startled by us walking near her, and now she won't sit on the baby. The baby is in the sun and the other hens are around her.... How long do I wait for the hen to sit on her? Should I take her out right away?? HELP!

If her other chicks are a week old already, she probably wont sit on the new baby. I would imagine the 6 older chicks are already running around being little chickens. I would bring the new one inside to brood. You may be able to slip it back under her at night once it is moving around better- but be prepared to raise that baby yourself if she still wont accept it good luck!
