Antiseptic- definitely.I have some old antiseptic ointment. I was going to try to put the bone back and splint it is this a good idea
By immobilize what do you meanAntiseptic- definitely.
But otherwise , it totally Your choice. If you go that route. Please photograph in good lighting (not a brooder lamp) from all angles first, so you don’t have to disturb it in the morning.
Generally if a fractured bone is splinted, after the splint is applied, it’s best to leave it alone for a period of time before unwrapping it.
I’m afraid if you splint it tonight, by the time we have a chance to “see” it it might be too far gone.
In my opinion There is no sense in causing unnecessary pain to this little one. Maybe you could just immobilize the fracture exactly the way it is overnight and let it rest.
Leg bottom leg is flopping in different directionsLike a bit of gauze or even a little bit of thin cardboard or even a sheet of paper folded over several times and a bandaid gently holding it in whatever position it is currently in.
It means not trying to straighten it out just yet.
Okay then create a “soft splint” until morning.Leg bottom leg is flopping in different directions
