have had 3 baby chicks hatch out of my newest hatch so far, silkies. one is pecking at feed i put on the floor of the brooder, the other ones are kinda iffy about it. I dipped their beaks in the waterer as soon as they were placed in the brooder, what do i do now.. let nature take its course, or get involved myself? Advice would be appreciated. pleasee

They'll catch on within a day or so - the first 48 - 72 hours they won't starve, but if they don't go after the water tomorrow, you can try dipping beaks again. Try tapping your finger on the floor in the middle of the food so they think you are "pecking" at it.
