baby duck with lots of problems

I'm going to try and find him another mate. The only problem is I have to find one that is about his size. They eat anything that is small enough to get in it's mouth.

I don't see or hear Que Sera outside. I need to go check on her. lol

Carolina Water Fowl rescue must take great care of their geese for them to live that long. Thats amazing.

The little doggie boot worked fine. At the end of the time I had to throw it away because she had so much dirt of it. I bet the neighbors thought we were nuts having a duck running around in boot. I hope Clyde keeps his gauze on I will never find a boot to fit his big foot. I wrap them in vet wrap so I'm sure he is going to need plenty of that.

Did you find bumble on Clyde's foot?

I imagine Que Sera sitting in a swing attached to a tree[live oak] and Yoo Hoo is pushing her . kinda of like Gone with the Wind.

Thats great Deb we look forward to seeing your new addition in spring.

We didn't get to Clydes foot today. Hubbie and I come back from the grocery and my Great Granddaughter was here. She kept us entertained for several hours. She's 8 months old now and she gets to clapping her little hands and rocking back and forth. Shes so precious.

I'm going to put that on Hubbies to do list. Plant oak tree and build a swing for Que Sera and Yoo Hoo.

I can picture it now.

If the yard isn't a lake tomorrow we will get to Clydes foot. Poor baby.

Have a great evening.

It's called both. lol I can't have one so I will enjoy looking at Debs new baby goose. Now this is a stupid question but I must ask. The female is the goose and the male is the gander? Is that right.

Here's the 4 of them together

Well geese are just awesome I cannot imagine not having them, there are some draw backs Breeding season which is from later winter till usually end of May the ganders are something else they are so protective and will go after the rest of the flock even to injury if your not careful. The females lay an egg every other day and they are good brooders and the ganders stand watch and dare anyone to come near. I don't let them intimidate me that is one thing you cannot do with geese is let them scare you. they are big bluffs but if they feel they have the upper hand they will take advantage of it and a goose bite hurts. they also flog with their wings. Young children need to always be supervised when around geese to during breeding season other times they are pretty gentle. Now that mine are through with breeding and laying they are again pretty easy to be around for me but they still don't like the ducks and chickens I caught Babe with a mouth full of chicken feathers just a couple days ago. They did spend the whole month of May and June in their own fenced off area because they were so hateful and they hate broody ducks too. lol Plus I had 4 baby bantam chicks running around with their mamas and from reading I know geese have been known to kill babies so they were in goose jail till this past week. Baby chicks are on their own and stay away from them now. Mine all have their own houses but they all free range inside a fenced half acre daily and when I can be with them all they can come outside of the fence too. They also live a long time up to 40 yrs and more so it is very much a commitment.I even have made provisions for my ducks geese and chickens if something were to happen to me. They are my enjoyment in life not so much the rest of my families. They like them but not so much the daily care. and DH means Dear Husband ,DD Dear daughter, DS dear Son etc
Wow, Miss Lydia. So amazing reading this about your geese and their interactions with the other birds. Not only are yours beautiful but they are very cute. Love the different colors. Learning what I did about them I would cuddle them in a virtual sense and just stare at them. I had no idea they lived almost 40 years.
