baby duck with lots of problems

I'm glad your rain has stopped. Thats good you have a plan just in case. I wish I had a basement to put everybody in. It would take several hours tho to get all of mine inside tho.

Do you have enough bathtubs that everyone good get into? That's where my cats go. Mark (the dbf) watches over those in the basement and I stay with the cats.

We only have one bathtub and it's against the outside wall. Can't you take the cats down in the basement too. That would probably be the safest place for all of you. We do have a hallway in the house. Thats what we use if it's a tornato warning.

The cats are afraid of the stairs and they aren't fans of the dogs either. Plus, they'd be able to get to the ducks and who knows what would happen then.

I'd probably try though.

Since we live in the woods we have talked about forest fires which when it's dry and hot like it is can happen pretty fast, dh says well the water fowl can make it to the river, I said I think not they all go with us. I need to get all crates in one place for emergency. I will not leave anyone behind.

What kind of phone do you have? Maybe I can help.

Patty, our rain has finally stopped and we're suppose to get to temps in the 90's this weekend with heat indexes 100+. Nothing like going from one extreme to the other, huh? I've actually given this some thought, since I'm a worrier. My dogs and ducks are going to have to share the basement during tornado warnings or watches or whatever. I'm going to block off an area for the ducks. We have a walk out basement and the door is only about 10 feet from the coop. Of course, I only have 4 ducks to deal with.

I just have an LG flip up Deb. nothing fancy hardly use it actually. mainly for emergencies. My son calls me on it too.
Serious temps there I hope your ducks have the sun screen and glasses ready. and their beach towels open.

Maybe she can get her pool put up before those temps hit. I can see them now with their sun glasses on and sunscreen on their feathers floating around in that big pool. With only 4 ducks they should only take up one raft. That would leave Deb with the rest of the pool.

Oh, so your phone probably isn't a touch screen one? Do you know if you have an icon that looks like a camera? If you select it, you might get an option to take a photo or video with it.

Naw, lol...it takes a full day to put the pool together and then another 2 days to fill it. They don't even work weekends so the soonest it will get put together is Monday. Teehee...I can picture them, though, all sharing a raft.

Patti that's alot of animals and birds to round up but I know you would give it your best shot. Several years ago when we just had the chickens hubbie and I were trying to get them in the coop. and wind was blowing and the sky was almost black and the tornado sirens were going off we got all but 3 hens in the coop and slammed the door. We grabbed up the hens and brought them in the house. They enjoyed spending the next hour in the kitchen. The tornado didn't touch down in our area but it did hit a several miles away from here. We were lucky that day.
