baby duck with lots of problems

It makes sense to me if you took the picture on your phone and wanted to post it from your computer.
And I will take a recent picture of my ducks. They grow so fast. I'm about to clean out their pen so I will try to get a picture then.
Yes the picture was taken with the phone. In the old days I would take pics on a camera and I had a cord that I hooked up to the computer and downloaded them. That was so much simplier to do. I've almost got it now if I can just get the downloading to the email I would have it.

We would love to see your pics when you have time. I know they grow to fast. I wish they could stay little forever.

Patty do you have a smartphone?
Here are some pictures I took tonight

The one with the white ring around its neck is the drake and the other 3 are hens. They are about 2 months old now. It's hard to get good pics and I was trying to beat the dark to get the pen cleaned, so I didn't put much time and effort into the pics. I'll try to get a good one tomorrow.

It's an android phone. Thanks so much for posting their pics. They are gorgeous. They look so big to be only 2 months old you must be feeding them well. Is that your horse to in the pic? I think he was showing off and wanted his pic taken too.

Thank you. Yeah I know, they are huge! But yeah they are approximately 8 weeks old. Today they were running in their run flapping their wings like crazy... I'm pretty sure they were trying to fly. They are mallards, but won't it be about 2 more months before they can fly?
Yes the horse is mine, I have 2 and they are both curious about the duck pen and ducks.

Oh and Patty, the reason I asked about the smartphone (which yes you have) is because there is a backyard chickens app you can get. Or even if you just go on the website through the Internet on your phone, and you can post pictures straight from your photo library to here just by hitting the picture icon at the top of the reply box and then upload from my device and then choose existing (then select the picture of your choice) and then hit submit

I think Opie needs some training, rope jumping and running before he can get his fat butt off the ground. I'll get him started tomorrow.

Tell Que Sera it might be fall before she see him.

Hey! Opie looks svelte to me. He doesn't have a fat butt! If you do make him workout, we need pics of him in his jogging suit.

@TheDrake - cute ducks! are you planning to clip their wings or let them fly?

Deb, I plan on letting them fly because I want them to be able to free range and go in my pond... And be able to escape from predators if need be. Though I will still try to put them in their pen at night.
Anyone know at what age mallards can usually fly? I don't think I'm ready yet. I'm so scared they will leave but being as I raised them and feed them, what I've read tells me they will stay even if they can fly. I will continue to always make sure there is food in their pen. And I will make a routine of snacks in their pen in the evening and then I will close them in there overnight.

Yeah, that's a good plan. I would think the snacks will be the "icing" on the cake so to speak. Mine are crazy for their peas and that's what I give nightly before locking them in. Sorry, no idea when they start flying. That sure would be nerve wracking!
