The same thing happened to me. I bought 7 chicks this spring and boy are they laying. Then I have all the female ducks their all laying exept for Yoo Hoo and Que Sera. I'll never know when they start laying because I can't keep track of whose eggs are whose now. I should call a food bank and see if they will take some eggs. I don't want them to go waste they work to hard to lay all these eggs.LOL, Patty. The guy my husband works for has something similar going on. He bought some chickens back in the spring, and he now has so many eggs he's having trouble giving them away. Have you thought about giving your excess ones to a food bank?
Interesting that everybody wants to use the same nest box. Is there something special about that one?
The nest box that they all like is really a pet crate without a door. The other nesting boxes are wood and most have a top on them. They must like plastic because the pet carrier is the only one that is plastic.
