baby duck with lots of problems

Im after some advice please. . I recently bought 5 ducklings that are now 4 days old and one of them is much smaller then the rest, she is low on energy and is very wobbly when she walks, she wont stick her neck up at all.. the other ducklings seem totally fine. except for her. Is there something that i can do to help her, or is there something wrong with her. ??

Can you get to TSC? they carry Poultry Nutri Drench it can be given straight into the mouth you'll want to use a needless syringe which you can get there also make sure to just gently put a little at a time just inside her bill [never shoot down the throat] If shipped she could have shipping stress and PND is great for that. you can also put it into their drinking water, go by direction on bottle for hand feeding and for putting in water. Hopefully she just needs some extra nutritional help. She may not be getting enough nutritional yeast when she eats too so the PDN will help.
Keep us updated.

Yeah way to go. The first egg. Wow great job. Are you going to blow it out and save it?

They are eating starter crumble, fresh water is supplied frequently , she eats and drinks and poops the same as the other ducklings, they are given nutritional yeast sprinkled on there food every day.. they are sleeping indoors, in a brooder. Shes also a peking
Ducklings need water with food 24/7 - what is the temperature in the brooder? With ducklings, there are a number of possibilities of problems. She may have an infection, in which case she needs antibiotics. She may have a congenital problem starting to show up. A good duck vet is best, and I know it is not always possible.

Vet or no, I would get her some Gro-Gel or Sav-A-Chick, vitamin electrolytes probiotics. I would give her a little TLC. Do they have crumbles 24/7?

Have you seen the sticky on Raising Ducklings? Do you have any books on raising them? Just wondering what your resources are.

The stories you all tell are hilarious! Never fail to make me laugh.
Random question but does anyone else's ducks get feathers caught in their noses? Mine do all the time and I'm constantly pulling them out.

Today on our way up to feed the big animals on my gpas property I saw a giant bird with spots fly across the road and land in a tree on the other side. I thought it was a cooper's hawk since I see them up there a lot but after stopping the truck and getting out I saw the back of this big Bird that was brown with white speckled spots and it's head turns all the way around and it's eyes were black! Turns out it was a spotted owl!! I've never actually seen a wild owl before so it was amazing, it just sat there and stared at us for a while. It took off eventually and we went and fed, on the way back down I pulled up some spotted owl noises just thinking maybe it'll respond. We sat there playing then for about fifteen minutes before giving up. As we were driving away I looked back one more time and see the owl in the branch above where we had stopped all Fluffed up and wings spread, like in the "back off" body language! I never even saw it fly up!! By the time we backed up it was gone. It was truly amazing to see such a beautiful creature
I've never seen one before in the wild. I wish you could have gotten a picture of it.

My ducks get feathers in their nose all the time. I think it's just from cleaning theirselves.

I love owls so neat you got to see one and so close.

Mine have feathers sticking out of the nares alot I call them feather buggers.I have to be fast to get them out of my geese nares.
That's a good name for those feathers that get stuck.

I really didn't think I was going to be so excited. LOL...I quack me up! Do you have any fun planned for the weekend?
I knew you would be excited it's like getting a present. No plans at all here just hang out and enjoy the ducks and chickens. Do you have any plans?

Most of ours come out of their pens in the afternoons with down stuck all over their noses, but they're molting right now. They can usually swish them off once they get in the pond. There's water in their pens that's wide and deep enough for them to swish their heads, so not sure why they wait until they get out to do anything about it.

That sounds good to me! I actually don't have any obligations this weekend. I'm looking forward to it. I'm going to start reading up on how to best get through the winter with the ducks. Right now I hose out their coop to get it good and clean. I'm not going to want to do that in the winter. (I hate winter.)
