Bad leg problems

He weighs 7.5 pounds
I read somewhere that when treating a possible niacin deficiency one could give 23 mg per pound of body weigh several times a day. So at 7.5 pounds I think I might want to try giving him 170 mg of niacin three times a day and see if that helps.

I think it was one of my vet books that suggested that amount, but let me double check.

Hollly crap that’s a lot of niacin lmao. How do I give that much? Like in what form could I find that reasonably?

The things I know of that can cause leg weakness are b vitamin deficiencies and calcium deficiency. But you said you were originally giving him layer feed. So hmmmm. If he took a fast growth spurt, the 7.5 pounds doesn’t really matter. His body would have to be able to keep up with the fast growth. Has their been any improvement? My best suggestion would be to get him swimming as much as possible to work out the legs without the weight.

Yes I try to get him swimming daily and that seems to help a bit. Little swimming physical therapy!
