Bagging up Peacock for travel

She also carries one of the white genes, without test breeding there is no way to determine which one it is unless you know the parents but with the knowledge that the breeder has I doubt she could shed any light on the mystery. Beautiful girl, when you look for a mate consider a White out of BS parents.

YOU ARE AWESOME! I think you are right! She actually just layed another egg when I went to do night check on them. I guess I will try my luck and put that one in the incubator as well. Thank you for all your help!!

Can you post a picture of you candling it?
I just candled it again. And there’s a video on there if it works with this site. Disregard my 11-year-old seeing the inside of an egg like that for the first time lol he’s never interested in the stuff and was so confused as to what I was asking him to take a video of lol

Has she been with an immature male?
Sometimes animals are mature before we realize it.

Long sperm storage is certainly one explanation, but immature male mating is another possible explanation.
Sort of -they are separated by a fence or dog kennel panel and those two boys will be a year August 9

It is more common than people think, I have heard of many stories like yours. One from a known and trusted friend of mine that had a hen lay fertile eggs after brooding a clutch with no cock present a couple of months after the chicks hatched. However, this is not the norm and should never be counted on. The common opinion is sperm can be banked for only a couple of weeks, your hen held it for four which is not in the realm of impossible. I would expect that the cool weather had something to do with your situation.
Hey all! I feel like I ask more questions than anyone else on this forum but here goes... The egg that I had that had ended up being viable after my hen not being with a male for over 4 weeks went into lock down on Sat. now today is 29 days and still no chick. Should I remove the egg or give it more time? The egg was candled prior to lockdown and was hard to see but I saw some movement fyi. Any help would be appreciated!!
