When did it become my place to change the behavior of others ill-mannered kids? I have many times asked people to curb their kids and you either get dumb looks or they get angry..... go figure.

I love the comparison too. Its not hard to sit threw a dinner with smokers but it is with most children.

I can see this rule becoming more popular in more UPSCALE restaurants allowing no children under a certain age limit, but it would probably be going too far if they did it at more family friendly restaurants (someone mentioned IHOP earlier..). If they limit too many restaurants (family friendly) then there would be not as much family dining in public, which would be kind of disappointing to families who deserve a treat every once in a while. But I definitely agree with enforcing this rule at more upscale restaurants..

But if parents are going to take their kids out to eat, they need to be able to control them, and understand that they can't bring them to all these fancy restaurants and be ruining other people's dinners.

Actually if you go to the store early in the morning it's pretty much kid free. Because... they have been up all night.

There is a good side to that.

I would not purpose resticting kids at all restraunts, but I do think having some that do not allow them would be extremely nice.

I like Grittys idea of kid free Wally World hours! But then again, I don't got there!
