BANTAM COCHINS CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pics
I'm so bummed for my daughter. She researched and looked at a lot of different breeds and LOVES the bantam cochins.... she called them the "teddy bears" of chickens! She looked at silkies and thought they didn't look like chickens, seramas she thought had something wrong with their tail and she thinks the top hats wouldn't be able to free range safely (and she's right we have a lot of hawks and she did good reading up on it!) but when she saw the cochins she just loved the feet and shape. When she saw one frizzled? She went nuts

<---- like that! lol I will get her some but those eggs are hard to find

There are several facebook groups devoted to cochins. if you just search for cochins on FB you should be able to request an add for the groups, and find someone selling eggs. Maybe ask @WestKnollAmy ? Her birds are beautiful and she is very knowledgeable.

I know Papa's Poultry has white frizzle eggs in stock. Maybe that will work for you.

Good info...thank you so much!

They said that there are orders in front of me and some went broody. My big issue is it was an auction. I asked if they could do an Oct 25th delivery date. They said no problem and the auction ended the 19th and they are appearantly still trying to fill autions from the week before. I stopped looking for eggs for this hatch because I thought I had it covered between these and my eggs. I would put it off till I could get the eggs but I'm hatching in a preschool and I don't think the 3-5 year olds will understand!
No they will not! I teach 4-5 years olds...LOL!

That's what I thought! We had to hold off the field trip to my house because the bus driver got sick and all we heard all day was "When are we going to the farm?' and "What about the Bawk bawks?" and "When is the Trip?" I felt HORRIBLE! The field trip was supposed to be on the 15th but it got postponed till the 30th. There's no way I'll put off the egg incubation! The incubator is sitting in the classroom empty right now so that they get used to it being there before eggs go in it.

Here's another option: get large fowl eggs and incubate them for someone else in your community. I know it's not ideal since your daughter also wants to start her 4h project, but in this case I rather think that the preschoolers need priority.

Oh I asked on my local forum and found someone willing to sell me some eggs! I also frantically messaged ebayers with bantam cochins and found someone who could send me some and they shipped them today already!!!! SUPER EXCITED!
