Found another tiny light brown egg today and both of the fake eggs shoved clear out of the boxes. Seems my new layer likes to stash these little things in the box I use to put my roosters in to buy an extra quiet hour in the morning.

Pretty sure it’s my black Cochin as she’s the only one who makes it a point to hang out in there, unless I’ve got an extra sneaky girl in the flock.

This bigger egg is from a new cochin pullet. The little one is a serama egg. Yours looks more like my serama egg! :D

Got a few new pics of my young frizzles, almost 12 weeks old.

That egg is huge compared to mine! Maybe it’s my Japanese girl at work then, she’s also freshly 6 months old. Checked all the 5 month old pullets’ vents, they look so dry and small. And it can’t be my Sumatra, as I believe they lay white eggs.

And now I’m thinking about frizzles and seramas... I need a bigger coop.

Anybody here have/breed birchens?
I'm trying to understand the genetics. Basically trying to figure if my cockerels received the birchen gene, or just leakeage of another sort from one of my hens.
Help?
