Well with that mix in the barnyard it ought to keep you guessing.

I can say that at least one parent is a Welsummer based on the V pattern on the head. Since there were no Welsummer Roos, then the mother is Welsummer and dad possibly a Barney or Rhodebar. My hunch is with Barney because the face looks so much like a Barney

I was saying that based on the hens they have in their flock. I did not see other typical V pattern birds like Legbars or Rhodebars. Do you know of any on the list that does have a V?
I was thinking Welsummer for the hen based on the color of the egg and the "V" on the head. She is now around 15 weeks but the pic she is 12 weeks

Here is my backyard Barnie. Anybody want to tell me pluses and minus? I'm not expecting anything so no hurt feelings with negative comments. No rooster and no plan for one. I'm guessing about 16 weeks. Just stopped peeping.

I too would love a critique of my 20 week olds. I don't know if you'll be able to tell much from the roo's picture, he wasn't cooperating.

I'm certainly no expert, but I'll give it a shot.

Positives - nice rounded breast, leg color

Negatives - lacing looks incomplete, loose feathering, low wing carriage (at least in the picture) and overall size looks small. (unless it's a bantam)

Is it just the picture, or does this bird have a beard? If so, it may be a cross.

It's hard to tell from the angle of the pictures, but here is what I see:

Positives on the pullet - leg color, tight wing carriage, nice head
Negatives - lacing looks messy over the wings.

I can't see much more of body shape from the pictures.

It's really hard to evaluate young cockerels. They need time to fill in.

Cockerel Positives - leg color
Cockerel Negatives - tail fluff, tail angle, flat chest, if that's white at the end of his tail feather
