Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

Thanks! On the cockerel there is no white on the end of the tail feathers and I think my dominant SLW roo has been yanking this guys tail feathers out. The tail used to be much fuller and that fluff wasn't visible until feathers started disappearing.

It's not unusual to see light gray/white fluff at the base of the tail in young cockerels. It's from the tight feathering of the Barnevelders. You don't want excessive fluff, but it isn't a DQ in the show ring. All of mine had it. They usually outgrow it. But I would separate him if the other roo is pulling out his tail. Believe me, it's a pain in the bum to grow tails back out.

Boys, sorry.
Confirming my fears! I guess this was a really bad dice. 7 out of 8 turned out to be cockerels. 3 I kept, the 3 one of my other friend took and 1 of the 2 I gave to someone for baby sitting them.

They are all so pretty though and I don't want them in a cooking pot. Wish there was someone close to me I can give them away to. I guess will have to start my search all over again. The Fancy Chick farms where I got them from are done for the season. Their Buff rooster will not be ready till Spring to guarantee all Blues.

Anyone within 100 miles of Chicago wants them, they are free! I can come half way to deliver!

Can anyone give me some feedback on this hen? I realize the photo isn't great for discerning conformation, but maybe you can discern something.
