Hey y'all! I'm completely new to the chicken world and got my first ones about 5 months ago. I didn't get an exact age when I bought them, but I believe all five of mine are coming up on 6 months in age. So from what I've read I should have some eggs soon! However, I have two Barred Rocks and I think one of them might be a rooster, which wasn't in my plans. The one in question has a larger comb and wattle. It's more vocal than the other and every morning it starts singing it's song around daylight. But I honestly don't know if it's trying to crow or it's just about to start laying. One of my Australorps is very vocal right now as well. It's the one in back in the picture.

Both of your Barred Rocks are roosters unfortunately

You do know you have two barred rock roosters, right?
Well clearly, no I don't know. That's why I posted on this forum. But I did see your first comment as well as the others. I was told all of my chicks were female when I got them, but as I've stated a few times I am completely new to the world of chickens.

Both barred rocks are boys. Your austraorp looks like a femae though.

Yea, I was in a way asking if you read the posts we posted so that you'd understand that you won't get eggs from those rocks. I hope I'm making sense :)

Both are cockerels. When getting sexed female chicks, there is still a 10-15% chance of getting males, since vent sexing isn't completely reliable.
