Our 3 year old barred rock is wanting to eat, chasing treats, etc but can't. We thought maybe it was her beak. I finally got her mouth open and she has a growth in her throat. She's still very feisty. I attached the best pic I could get since it's way back in her throat. Any ideas? We went and picked up b12 and a poultry supplement.

Thanks

Has there been any fowl pox in your flock recently? Yellow gunk in the throat might be wet fowl pox, canker, or some other infection such as thrush/fungus, or even a bacterial infection. Can you check it again later, and get a picture in focus, and also make sure that it is not food? How does the beak smell? Canker is said to smell rotten. Canker is treated with metronidazole or Fish Zole available online. Dosage is 250 mg daily for 5 days. Here is a good deal on Fish Zole:

Thank you. Its hard to get a picture it's past the tongue. But I'll try. I try moving it with a tip, it had blood but did not budge.

It does look like pictures I have seen of canker, but it is supposed to smell bad. Have you seen any scabs on combs or wattles which could be fowl pox? Is your chicken eating and drinking well?

Nope, on the pox. She's looks good. She drank on her own today, that we have caught, but still not eating. She looks like she wants to but can't grab.
