Cheryl - so glad to hear about the barn. (Finally caught up on 6 or 8 pages of thread.) I was at a class all day both days and missed the news. I'm available this week if you'd like a hand hauling stuff. I do have the pickup truck and would be glad to help. Let me know!

The barn wouldn't have even happened if it wasn't for Steffanie and Tim. Wow they are some amazing people. I'll post before and after pictures in a bit but these incredible people helped (and did most of the work, it seemed) of cleaning everything out, big job, putting up wire what seemed like everywhere to keep the raccoons out, building roosting bars, it was a HUGE job. It took all day and I can't be more thankful. I was going to bring the two breeding stock flock over last night but after, feeding/cleaning/watering everyone else, I decided to wait till this morning. Steff & Tim my heartfelt thank you goes out to you, you know I couldn't have done it without you. Plus learning the country-boy construction tips!!

Wolftracks, yes, I only plan to process roos. I haven't done a pullet yet (although my stupid dog has.) There should be a roo or two in that batch to see how they taste, but if it's the FBCM, I'll probably keep him for a while. I do love my Wyandotte roos, so they'll have to be nice to them.

Congratulations Cheryl... Awesome Today show spot. I think for most of the non chicken world, this show is indicative of the reaction to our fowlphilia. Many do not understand. Way to explain the addiction. Beautiful shots of the coops and birds. Good Work Cheryl.

Let's just go with the positives on this...

That's the problem with the media...you just don't have control over how they process all the taping they do...that's why I'm typically not a fan of doing these things, but it turned out pretty good i think

I made them eat it, I wanted them to appreciate how amazingly different a fresh egg is, sort of to help them humanize the segment. The really loved it.
