BBS Cochin adopt an egg hatch-a-long

Here are the pictures. Sorry they stink, I can't get good pictures.. I opened S2, S10, S7, S18, A1 and S11. Most just looked like normal clear eggs. But 2 we're cloudy looking. I will post that picture too.

H1 is still going strong. A couple are just dark, but I saw no veins, there was 1, may be S3, that most of the egg is dark besides the air cell.

Anyone think any may have life besides H1?

What about S14?

Big sticker that said “FRAGILE, LIVE HATCHING EGGS”

And once it shipped I went to USPS and changed delivery to hold at post office. Surprisingly they were pretty quick with updates!

A friend of mine works at my PO so she had them hold mine. But it didn't say fragile on it. I will have to ask other seller if she has it

I took out a bunch of eggs today. Will update the list. I think I only left 2 in there. One has me confused. Most of the egg is dark but I see no veins. The air cell is attached but moves around and when it moves the dark area shifts too..... They are only day 8 so shouldn't be that dark yet..

I put 3 of Ditzy's and 2 Hummers under Nugget, well gave Fajita one of Ditzy's since I think it was snuck in yesterday.... Where we are camping Thurs-Sun I don't want to take a chance of them going on the wrong nest so Wed night (only day 3) I will candle and put them in the incubator for the weekend before giving them back Sun night (day7) after I check them.

Working on getting more splash Cochin eggs and some Cochin)EE eggs that look like Cochins but lay green eggs!!! Should be able to set those in 2 weeks. Will incubate them unless anyone else goes broody. Lol

Ok all shipped eggs and A1 have been taken out.

I am going away so put the eggs in the incubator while I am gone just in case one of the broodys go back to the wrong nest. I have 3 Ditzy and 3 Hummer eggs on day 3. Peeked tonight and see nothing at all. I am hoping at least 1 is doing something when I check on Sunday. I would like each broody to hatch 1 so they move on from being broody.

H1 is still doing great!!! Will get some more pictures tonight. Hatch day is Sat.

I put 3 more of Hummers eggs and 3 of Ditzy's under my girls on Sunday.. moved them to the incubator on Wed since we were camping Thurs- today and I didn't want to chance either broody going back to the wrong nest box ... Well none of those did anything... WTF .. how can one of Hummers develop, in day 15, and 3 others not do anything, on day 8... Ugh. Thinking maybe I am doing sot wrong. But these were started under a broody, then put in an incubator. I haven't really handled them.

I am trying to figure out getting a couple chicks to give to one of my broodys and then let the other hatch H1 that way they both stop sitting...


I just won more eggs, it is a long story, but hoping that they are the right ones. They should be a mix of splash Cochin eggs and some that are her project breed that are Cochin/ EE mix that look like Cochins with cheeks and lay pretty green eggs... So hoping these ones work.

Lol not a exciting story. The seller, who sounds good and will replace eggs for shipping cost if u get under 35-40% hatch rate,. Had a couple different listings. I asked if she could do one for me with splash Cochin eggs and the project eggs so I didn't have to bid on both. She said sure.. told me she listed it but I wasn't sure what listing.. I asked her she said what it was listed as which was close to the one I bid on but not exact.... So not sure if I bid on the right listing or not.... Hoping I did.
