My pyrenees x was attacked by a bear, ripped wide open from sholder to sholder, you could see her lungs, NO ONE HERE IN YANCEY CO. N.C. WOULD help me.....I keep getting knocked of line.....please refer to Ashevilles Craigs list to hear my story. The Carolina Great Pyrenees Rescue saved my dogs life and probably my own. A volunteer came and got her, she would have surely died without these people....please check out craigs list and her story on the homepage of Carolinas Great Pyrenees Rescue. She is the gentlest dog i have ever known yet most ferocious protecter over "HER" flock, ALL of us: me, chickens, ducks, goats, and what I think caused her all this harm, a fawn, big ears(white tail doe'S) fawn.

God bless you and Chloe....and everyone who helped. I am so happy Chloe will make a full recovery. Good girl you have....very brave girl.

Thank you , she is a brave soul and deserved to live regardless to what lil these people here thought about her, please go to the Carolina Pyrenees rescue and pull up thier web site...I'm not a wrighter and they have told the story better than i can, i guess i did the best i could do on Ashevilles craigslist...it is still very emotional for me...the wound i could have put my whole fist in, i knew i saw somthing and laiter found out it was her lungs, the hr's she suffered and i could get no help here was awful. she is home now ,happy , still healing, but so very happy. And yes she is being spoiled rotten!!!!THANK YOU,!

I have said it before and I will say it again, when a bear is in your yard SHOOT IT, & SHOOT TO KILL. If you don't it may very well kill you or your love ones. Twenty years ago I thought differently, but now with the number of bears, the food suupply is down for them. They come after your trash and your pet food. When that runs out, they come in your house. You can't build a coop strong enough to keep a bear out. And YES, I don't leave the house without a gun strapped to my side. For those of us that live in bear country, that old credit card saying goes for guns, NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT.

u are exactly 100% right, I didn't see the bear but when and if i do IT WILL B A DEAD ONE!!!! There is thousands of ac's here for it to roam and it doesn't need to b near my home. If it's coming in this close it has lost it'a fear of humans and dogs. a few miles away someone got a pic of a bear estimated to weigh 900 lbs. on a wildlife camera. that could take down a whole cow. black bears like fresh kill and if it attacks a human it will literly eat u alive! they use dogs t hunt bear here and hardly ever kill any that way, if more people would still hunt it would b better. i know bears hv t live too but the population has t b controlled and these people in these gated comunities that are feeding them are just asking f trouble. i always carry a gun and mk plenty of noise in the woods.thanks for everyones well wishes, she is a super dog. everyday she greatly improves.

I was so sorry to hear about your dog. A bear is very scary, I had one in my yard a week ago, luckily I scared it off hope it stays away.
