Can I adopt your friend? That is way cheap. I went with reusable Glad containers in my soft sided lunch bag.

Sliced Cabbage
Albacore from 1/2 a can 3oz
wasabi/soy sauce/oil dressing

Crunchy, salty and spicy all at the same time. It was delish

Being a teacher, I have to take my lunches also. I love the bento box ideas. I just wish someone made mine in the morning! I need a wife! Got a husband, but need a wife too.

Well, go figure, I didn't know he had off tonight. He happily ate his lunch in front of his xbox and raved about how good it was. LOL Probably because I said I made it with love and it better not be wasted. If only my boys were as kind as their Daddy.

If you can hold out, get them from Ichiban Kan, where they cost like a dollar for the set. They are really cute--I have seals balancing grapse on their noses, and tree trunks holding up mozzarella "leaves."

The little animals are just picks, to hold food together.

I just got some egg molds on Ebay and they had the skewers too. I'm afraid they'd never come back home. I'll find the Ebay store name and edit to add it. Now I just need some pullet eggs for the molds! I hope they come with instructions!
The Ebay store's name is jstuffsale.

Mail just came. Amazon order with three books on lunchbox ideas, one specifically Bento, the other is the Manga Cookbook. The third is a lot of healthy lunch alternatives for kids.

Ooooh, you must share!

Wish the box would come so I could make pretty lunches and take pictures. I'll take some next week anyway in gladware containers!
The books have great basic info on traditional Japanese lunch items, directions for making onigiri, etc. That's as far as I've gotten. I want to try rice burgers. My son will love those!
