Bento Box Fever!

i saw a great idea today online. instead of your regular sandwich for your child, make them a sandwich on a stick.

it's like a kabob but with sandwich makings. how inventive is that!

Gahhh!!! Now that it's available readily online, I have no money. Such is my luck...

Okay, Ian's bento tonight.

Cheese Curls
Fruit and Nut Trail Mix
Banana Chips
Mustard to dunk
Turkey and Cheese on white wheat with mayo and mustard
Pretzel Sticks (for the dunk)
Also took: 1 Strawberry Fruit and Grain Bar, 1 Blueberry Fruit and Grain Bar, 1 banana

I have some of the smaller ziplock storage boxes that I use instead of baggies now. My goal is to have my son throw away nothing in the cafeteria whenever possible. I've even got him bringing home his apple cores for the compost!

great training on the kids you gals but until I get some smaller containers to fit in dh's lunchbox, I will use the snack sized zip lock bags.

Cool idea! I like to put some sort of pickle in each bento- and I usually spear them along with a grape tomato and an olive, but this is a great way to do a sandwich! Thanks for posting it

i was at walmart yesterday and was looking through their tupperware section and they had some lock n locks along with some very small snack size containers. i know they're not from the lunch box people but they were very nice looking tupperwares.

Thanks, I will take a look and see if they have some short enough to fit into the lunchbox. I did see some at the Dollar Store but they still were too tall to fit. I am sure something will come up.
