Flock raiser Crumbles with 20% protein and nutritional yeast added. Your baby would also like eating bananas, blueberries and watermelon and sliced up lettuce as snacks always served with water. They grow so fast it is important to use the correct food and added niacin Your duckling is sure cute !!!!
Excuse me, I wonder if you might help me please? I am trying to find out if it is ok to give my ducks and chickens iceberg lettuce? I give them other types of lettuce too but their favourite is iceberg but recently I read it is bad for them but I have also found articles which say it isn't. I'd hate to deprive them of it if I don't have to as it is their favourite lettuce but I'd don't want to risk harming them either - so if you could advise me I'd much appreciate it?

Romain is actually the best for them. Iceberg is basically water..

Hmm, Does the feed that is available to you have a nutrient label on it?

Peas and bugs are a good source of protein.

What is the food? And is the water deep enough to dip the head completely? How many ducklings are you raising?

When I bring the feed many times per day they always seem to think it was treat time and more interested then if I just made sure there was plenty to last throughout the day.

Even when I raised ducks, they got the same treatment as all other birds here, light out feed collected to avoid rodents, locked in to avoid predators.

@chickens really please share your knowledge regarding nutritional need so we can help get this duckling back on track, thank you. :fl
I make their foods myself but special food sold by kilo.
I used to gave them peas they loved it and they are a lot of mosquito here :))
Their foods are : boiled rice , vet bread(traditional) ,wheast , Corn , Raw chicken skin and Fried fish skin , carrots , boiled potato , onion , vegtables , cucumber are their foods. Not always , it depends we have it in house or not ^^
I have to ducklings 10 weeks.one of them didnt grow so much thats not fat at all , he is very weak and when swim , starting to shiver :( and i have a chicken too.
He eat everything and i guess he is okay.
I dont know why i have problem with ducklings :( i take care so much of them :hmm

They do have romaine, and is the one I give them the most but their fav is iceberg so I give them that as well as romaine - I realise iceberg is watery but it still contains the same vitamins and minerals as romaine just at a lower level, they have a staple diet, they get everything they need, the iceberg is purely for a treat because they like it, I just need to know if it is harmful or not?

he just became bald

There are a few possibilities here...

Injury, genetics, nutrition, or parasites... (looks like you could use more protein, meat not just skin)

Do the others look like that as well? I know you said he wasn't growing like the other duckling did? How old is your chicken?

I haven't had ducks in a while... am I mistaken that they should have regular feathers and not just down at 10 weeks old?

Are you able to post a picture of them all? And also of the niacin you are using? Did you add the niacin only once, two weeks ago... Or have you started adding it regularly in the past two weeks? Thanks for doing your best to answer.
