Best Guess as to Breed?

Your welcome! Is he calm or is he aggressive? I have a very small rooster who thinks he can hurt me...... HAHA!!!!!! I call him the Tiny Giant even though his real name is Smokey....... man the hen is pretty too!!! What is her name?

Thanks for saying my hen is pretty, Chuck the Chick! I think so, too! Her name is Saffrenee. She has bright yellow legs, and I think she might be half Rhode Island Red.

'Baby,' the rooster, is a real Fussbudget. He's super prissy and has an anal personality and won't put up with any nonsense from anyone. He's a fine protector of the hens. He even scares the #1 Tomcat, who bullies all the other cats.

That hen by him is his best buddy. She would squat to mate with him when his hormones first hit a year ago and he was still awkward and bumbling about it. But she was so forgiving and encouraging of him. She's a real sweetheart.

Tiny, the Giant, sounds so cute! I'd love to see a picture of him.

Ok! I will try to get some on here..... yes your hen sounds like hawk..... my dark Cornish hen who pus up with him..... oh girls are so nice...:p

Cool,Chuck the Chick!

What part of Iowa are you in? I'm from northeastern Missouri, myself.

HowFunkyISURChicken,

When you say Blue X Buff Orpington, what do you mean by 'Blue?'  I think he looks an awful lot like he has Buff Orpington in him, too. Is there a Blue Orpington?  Or did you mean a Blue something else?

I appreciate your guess.  I sure think he looks Orpington, as well.  Is there anything else that could look Orpingtonish?

Yes, that's exactly what I mean, blue orpington x buff orpington. Maybe someone crossed the two colors with the intention of making "lemon blues" like they're doing with LF Cochins. Correct lemon blue actually requires brown red, but that's not a color LF Cochins or Orps come in (to my knowledge anyway). Orps have pink legs, so that would fit him if that's what he is. He's beautiful, whatever his mix :love

Mr. Smoky is gorgeous! His comb is sooo red. Looks very healthy. What breed did you say he is?

I'm in Utah currently. It has been very cold, and Baby's giant comb did get frostbite. He's too feisty for me to put jelly on his comb.

Wow, Nikki!

I did not know there are Blue Orpingtons! Gorgeous! I learn something every day here.

I wonder whether my farmer friend's Buff Orpingtons could have had some Blue Orpington genes? That is so exciting!
