Injury can be possible too. Can't rule it out completely either.I am just scared to hatch them and then possibly having to cull them if they are really bad? I bought her from the lady I got all my Birds from. Maybe it was an injury that healed wrong too? She was about 10 weeks old when I bought her and never noticed the foot was all noodled.
Her crooked toes look like they're caused by vitamin deficiency. I see this happen more commonly in cockerels, & roosters.Noodles and my favourite picture of Forrest Hump and Jenny.View attachment 2032800View attachment 2032801View attachment 2032802
Maybe I'll just try 6 of her eggs and see what happens? Her crooked toes look like they're caused by vitamin deficiency. I see this happen more commonly in cockerels, & roosters.
My Maran/GameFowl cross has a crooked toe on both feet, & my Project Orpington has it on one foot.
Sounds like a good plan. Let us know how it goes?Maybe I'll just try 6 of her eggs and see what happens?
I'm just waiting for better weather and for her to begin laying again after being Broody. Plus I'll wait for another Hen to go Broody too..Sounds like a good plan. Let us know how it goes?

Mine have been laying all winter although not as often. Forrest Hump also took a break from the hens too.Sounds good.
Most of my birds have been laying through winter, my other two Brahmas are starting lay again after taking a break during winter.
