The bottom line for me is whether or not politicians will stick to the constitution. I trust the latter, not the former.

I don't share some of Palin's views, but I'm gratified that she put her state's constitution ahead of her personal views when they conflicted.

Both Obama and Biden have done just the opposite. They have both repeatedly attempted to circumvent the constitution when they didn't agree with it, most obviously with respect to second amendment issues.

The world has just come to an end. I agree with Oblio!

I have spent twenty years longing for a woman in the White House .... BUT I don't want Palin anywhere near the White House. She is SO unprepared that given the incredibly fragile international place we hold she could get us kicked to the curb. ......

I cannot even BELIEVE you all who are upset about Obama's middle name (his father was a graduate student who came to the U.S. out of admiration, like all of our families did at some point, from the east coast of Africa where Arabic names are common due to HISTORY, the same way English is common here due to HISTORY or Spanish in New Mexico due to HISTORY or French in Louisiana or Quebec due to HISTORY - argh.)

The name Barack means Blessed, as does Baruch in Hebrew. You don't think that's a nice name for a baby? Hussein simply means Handsome. Don't we all, including the candidate's young mom to whom he was by all accounts, super, super close, want our babies to be blessed and beautiful?

btw he is half Kansan and half Kenyan, and was raised entirely by the Kansan side of his family, and where you people get this "95% Arabic" ?!?!?! thing from ?!?!?! simply boggles the mind.

I am not even getting into the issues with you people. If you really think the Republican party cares about some fictional "Joe SixPack, then you wil ust about deserve what you are will get, which is more of the past eight years of ignorance, rapacious deregulatory greed, warmongering and waste of the beautiful young lives of all our children, including our brave troops- who, by the way, no longer support this territorial. oil-seeking war or the administration who fought it and would, under new names, continue it. The troops know darn well, first-hand, that the Republican party needs to leave, now, with its tail btw its legs.

Tonight I'll get back to work, on the phone and door to door, along with my husband and two teens. Our youngest can't do that yet, but she stuck a sticker on her bike.

I think I'd better spend my time working for Biden and Obama, two candidates with a solid record of fighting for the rights of us all, including all of you who rail in ignorance about people's NAMES? Please! When our kids' lives, educations and futures, in and out of the military, are on the line?

There ya go! Social policies! The government controls you, controls everything from how much you make, what insurance you can have, what you can say and do, EVERYTHING!!!
Now let me let you know something about the road system. Now our horrible governor Tim Kaine ran his campaign completely on fixing our roads here in VA. However after Mark Warner left us in a surplus (who is a dem) we now also are in a defecit with nothing done to our roads. Kaine raised taxes on everything from personal property, registration fees, DMV fees, just about everything you possibly can and nothing was done for the roads. See this is truely what seperates R and D. Republicans cut programs that are usually wasteful spending and use that money for other programs that are important and are able to cut taxes. The dems on the other hand keep wasteful programs, creat new ones that are wasteful and to pay for them raise taxes. It is all there in front of you! Now for myself im only 23 years old with no college education and come from a split family on politics. However for myself I look at these programs and feel sick to my stomache as it seems people have forgotten how to take care of themselves. I dont want anything from the government money wise. I do not want welfare, I do not want insurance, I do not want them controlling how i live my life. I do pay my taxes from local to federal and send it as soon as the bill is at my hands. Every election I vote to make sure I have the right to speak out if i do not agree on something, and I always support our troops no matter what the situation is. I am proud of this country for able to say what and how I like to! Many people who want to bash someone for there belief or there political opinion are the ones who seem to forget these small things that make our country great. But yet they want to CHANGE these small things it may seem that will completely change our country from what it stands for!!!

I wasn't sure if I was watching the debate or "Fargo"...if I closed my eyes, Palin was a dead ringer for Marge Gunderson. I know a lot of folks find that cutesy, folksy stuff charming, but I find it patronizing, especially since underneath it all she didn't really answer any of the questions. I appreciate the working mom thing, being one myself, but many of us are, and many of us would not be good choices for VP based on that fact.

What I don't appreciate is the continued reference, whether direct or indirect (by using Obama's middle name) to the fact that he supposedly has Muslim ties or loyalties. This is not true, and has been thoroughly discredited. (I seem to recall a commandment against bearing false witness?) I'm disgusted that the Republican party has not come out publicly against this kind of hatemongering.

now here is what I feel on his middle name. Do we really know if he has his muslim beliefs? No we do not however until it can actually be proven from his mouth than bashing him for it is wrong! However when your father runs out of your life and your raised by your mother and grandparents who in this case are white. Why do you stand there and consider yourself black, and put your father up high like he was the greatest thing since sliced bread? Why in your book do you quote many points that easily lead people to think your muslim? Now again personally i do not feel he is muslim as the chuch he was apart of for 20 years was not muslim belief. They were against this land, and white people but do not preach anything about being a muslim. They do praise their mother land which is africa and i find amusing he has no ties to africa.
