Big news in TEXAS this week!

Unfortunately I submitted my email via the government wedbite, so I don't have a copy. I emailed and called personally. When I called his Austin office I spoke with one of his staff members and basically asked one of the reps employees what his stance was. I stated that I'm a voter in his district and would like to emplore him to vote in favor of the bill. If in disagreement, I extended an offer to have him come to my home to enjoy an omlet and a tour of our coop. The staff member took note of my stance, reasoning, and said she would forward this on to my rep. Days later I got a hand-signed note from the rep, so I guess it worked!

I have sent a couple emails via that site too. No nice letter to me yet...but I have not actually made a phone call. hmmm....
i will be calling today!
Thanks!

Yeah, I think it's the call that did it. My rep is Rick Miller. Not sure what part of Houston you're in, but if Rick is your rep you don't have to worry about calling.

No..Im on the other side of town..I got a Larry Taylor

Yay! My hens are so loud that I think they would be reported if our neighbors' dogs weren't just as noisy. Also, since we are moving it will be nice not to worry about complaints. Our tactic has always been to bribe the other neighbors with fresh eggs.

Yes this is huge! We have had lawsuits in our HOA over chickens! As soon as we heard this we jumped the gun a little and started our little flock. :)
BUT I thought it had passed and was to become effective in August (or whenever) now I see above it is up for a vote. I'm going to go research but does anyone know if it did?
