Big news in TEXAS this week!

Pics
It is very important that all Texas Citizens call the representatives who have written this bill and stress the need for clarification to the term POLITICAL SUBDIVISION. There is some dispute regarding HOA's if they constitute a PS or not. Please contact the offices of the writers of this bill and have them incorporate a definition of PS to include HOA, or list under the forbidding bodies HOA's, so that there is NO CONFUSION. It is time to stand up for homeowner rights and limit the scope and authority of HOA's that they can no longer bar homeowners from their civil liberties and rights granted by their duly elected government officials.

Sponsors of the Bill:

Texas Senators:

Honorable Nicolas Taylor (512) 463-0108

Texas House Representatives:

Honorable Dan Flynn (512) 463-0880
Honorable Jeff Leach (512) 463-0544
Honorable Jason Isaac (512) 463-0647

Your help means we will win! Please make a phone call today.

PLEASE DO SO AS THIS BILL HAS GONE THROUGH THE FULL MOTIONS OF THE HOUSE AND IS GETTING READY TO BE VOTED ON, WHICH WILL PASS, AND BECAUSE IT HAS PASSED THE SENATE, GET SIGNED BY THE GOVERNOR.

Yes the main one was over the fact that 4H animals are allowed the board tried to enforce a time limit and said they had the chickens "long enough". It actually went to court and the POA lost. :). There have been a few others busted for having chickens with a threat to sue but the property owners gave inand got rid of their chickens.
We live out of town in the country on over 2 acres and we can't have chickens! They are allowed in the city but not in this subdivision due to covenants. Just wrong! That is why this has to pass. Plus my girls are getting louder everyday! :)

do we think it will make it in time? The session ends Monday and still hasent been voted on by the hous. I really hope it makes it I want my chickens!!

I sure as heck hope so! I've got an email into our representative and surprise, suprise, have not heard anything back.
I'm building a bigger run now and I really don't want to have to camouflage it!

Sadly, it looks like the Texas House of Representatives dropped the ball, and this bill did not make it to the scheduling calendar on time. It is not on any of the schedules to be voted on. I just checked the Texas House Calendar. I hope I am wrong, but it isn't looking good right now. Dang!

it not being on the calendar if ok..they just haven't scheduled it so to speak yet.

Kikis,

The bill went to the calendar scheduling committee back on the 21st of May, which is more than enough time to be on the schedule. I fear that someone on the schedule committee scorned it, and did not deem it a priority and it sat. I hope I am wrong.

I want this bill just as much, if not more than anyone. I strongly dislike HOA's, and this bill would be a bigger step in dismantling, at least in Texas, the unelected, people's usurping rights, politically and personally biast, HOA's, often referred to as dictatorships. I strongly dislike when people make binding decisions for others out of ignorance, or because of hidden, personal agendas.

I hope this bill passes!
