I was really excited about this book, I mean, heck, who doesn't need more to read about chickens right? But then my eight year old son was looking over my shoulder and wanted to know why the book's name was so mean. We can't have the book now because "it's not nice to call people dummies!"

Until tomorrow when he calls his sister a dumb-head. Totally not the same thing.

I didn't much care for the 'Dunnies' moniker but every single one of those books I've ever read are so well written I learned to overlook the sarcasm in the title. Not buying the book because of the word 'Dummies' is going to keep you from getting excellent information on just about anything - especially chickens!

Hooray!!! I just got my copy today, going to sit down and read what I can.... looks like I may have to set up a chair out on the lawn with the birds and get in some light reading with Muppet ("my white silkie") on my lap.
