I just received eleven 3 month old chicks, they are currently in a cage that is isolated from my current flock. I believe that I should maintain this isolation for at least three weeks? However, I do not really know what I should be looking for (besides obvious signs of illness/injury)?

I have ordered 100% fenbendazole powder and will de-worm once I receive it, I need to figure out what mix ratio I will use so any advice would be appreciated.

I will check them for mites/lice/etc. and will treat with permethrin and/or sulfur if needed.

Any/all advice appreciated!

So one of the eleven 3 month olds has presented with Mareks like symptoms (cannot stand, twist neck...). Immediately isolated to separate cage; ALL eleven went into a larger separate cage inside my garage on arrival, where they still are.

I will get a necropsy if available/affordable. I have concluded best course of action is cull all eleven asap and burn/dispose of everything affected. Advice on how best to disinfect and clean appreciated.

I have had my flock close on two years and established on "pristine" grounds. I have had NF mites and now this. My goal is to keep my property as "pristine" (re chicken health) as possible, hence my conclusion.

Comments/thoughts please.
