Actually yes chickens eyes are made for spotting flying predators I can't remember which one but one is for seeing things far away like hawks in stuff and the other eye is for things close up cool right?!

Here's my new article!
I thought so. I love nature's way of equipping birds/fowl with eyesight like that. I was duck sitting for a friend of mine last year and was poking around in the yard with them when I saw Kensington the pekin looking up. I then looked up and saw what she was looking at, a raven on a tree top. She spotted it before I ever did. Then the welsh harlequin Montgomery started looking up. My friend also said when hawks are up above circling for long periods, his duck girls go below deck and hunker for a while. Pretty cool.

I've never had a problem
Their so cute!

do they sing?
Oh yeah the red tails are pretty um not sure let me see...
Thank you. I love them and their cuteness gets to me horribly. And the male sings and I love it. I prefer listening to him rather than the TV at times. The female doesn't sing but does produce a slight variance of nasal beeps. It's cute too.

Yes!! That's the one.  They hang out in their little flocks and are around for about two weeks in early spring.  I love them.

Ok yeah I haven't seen them.

That's cool I like the little finches that hang around my house.

I spotted a countless amount of swans and Canadian geese today!

me too with regard to the little finches. Love them. Ok, here's a dumb question, can swans fly? I mean the huge ones. I see ones at our local park river and they are enormous.

Yes they definitely can and it's not dumb at all it may seem dumb to someone who doesn't know that much about waterfowl/poultry but to me I totally understand why you asked yes they can because swans don't eat more than they need so they don't get fat as far as I know of I'm 95% sure I'm correct :p

thank you for your answer poult. And your understanding too. I would love to see one in flight. I think it's so interesting between the swans, geese and ducks all their similarities and differences. The faces and bills between the species too. I mean, one would never say that a swan is only a giant duck.
