It would appear to be a Fox Sparrow of the red variety.
@GravityWaves - That matches it perfectly thank you! Well that's a first for me - mainly White-throated is all I catch a glimpse of.
Yep, definitely a Fox Sparrow, one of my favorites!!@HomesteaderWife Right now there should be several sparrow species wintering in your area, along with more common ones that don't migrate. Fox sparrows nest from northern Alaska across to the northern parts of Canada so the bird you saw likely has a long trip coming up fairly soon.
Woah, that's a lot! I know starlings are invasive, but I do love watching them fly together!I'm probably too busy, sadly. It would be so hard to count the starlings! There are probably at least 100,000 of them.
