Birthday hatch :-)

My family bought me an incubator (an upgrade from the one I was using previously) - a Genesis. All 14 eggs I put in have candled viable, 3 have pipped, and 1 has hatched. 21st day not officially until tomorrow, but these guys apparently want out now!

These are EEs - daddy was an "Americauna" - you can guess where I bought him (I knew he wasn't purebred when I did) and mommas were black sex linked, Brahma, and golden sex link.

I'll post more pics as they continue to hatch out. I have several "shakers" that are rolling around the incubator, probably will hatch in the middle of the night.

Three out now - 1 has feathery feat like mama Brahma, black like black sex linked, and reddish like golden sex linked.

abenardini, congrats on the eggs, I have been hooked on hatching ever since my first time. It is like watching your kids being born(almost) and you only have to wait 21 days(still too long)

5 of the 14 are in the brooder, remainder in the incubator to dry out. 2 remaining are still pipping and starting to hatch. Great success if I get 100%.

Thanks, Angry! They all appear to be healthy, knock on wood. I babysat that incubator and was very careful throughout the incubation. I'm really happy with the Genesis.

Update - all have hatched aside from "slowpoke," as my kid has dubbed it. We will see if it hatches in the next couple of days. Hopefully! They all had really great embryonic development.
