black friday.... is it really worth it?

Wow....

I'm not a retail kind of gal and haven't ever gone out for the Black Friday because even with a great discount, I just hate paying retail for ANYTHING.

But what I would like to do is head down to the big ol' Mall of America and park myself at a table overlooking the walkways and shops, drink a glass (or two, or.....) of wine and watch the crazies go at each other. And laugh and laugh. I always say I'm going to do that, but the truth is that I don't think I could handle even the parking lot, so it probably would never really happen....

I usually get all my Xmas shopping done in Nov. and belive it or not, I usually do it at a gas station. The Shell gas stations north of Bay City are owned by the same franchise and offer "The Up-North Store" with lots of Michigan stuff-candles, books, wine, clothing, knick-knacks, kitchen stuff and Da Yoopers CDs.

At a wedding this summer, I was speaking with my cousin and his girlfriend and he said something about that gas station and then he turns to his girlfriend (who was tipsy) and says "That's where our presents come from."
The look on her face indicated that she didn't quite believe me.
