So that's basically the question... where would I get my sticky fingers on a pile of black walnuts for human consumption?

Yep, there was a few days ago, anyways.

We have a pear tree that still has fruit on the branches, even though a bunch of them were blown off during our 30 mile an hour wind gusts on Tuesday.

Just ask anyone with a few black walnut trees in their yard. They'd be very happy to give you some for free.

    Ok., dumb question here.
My dad has a walnut tree in his back yard. I didn't know that walnuts are encased in this fluffy (sorta) wrapper?? My kids thought they were rein deer poop. [IMG]
Anyway, how do you get the walnut out? How long do they have to dry for?
