BLUE-AMERAUCANA eggs not all blue

It isn't blue wheaten. Blue wheatens hatch with yellow down just like "regular" wheatens. Splash should hatch as dirty yellow or light gray.

Buying eggs from a breed club member does not guarantee quality. ANYBODY can join a breed club and sell eggs. Quite a while ago I bought Blue Copper Marans eggs from the same seller, and hatched out weird colored, clean shanked, birchens and a splash chicken with green legs. Never got anything that resembled a feather legged Blue Copper Marans. Buying eggs without seeing the actual parent birds is playing Russian Roulette.

Members of breed clubs can come and go. You want to stick with the people who have been at it for a while.

I have collected the breeders list for ABC for the past 3-4 years, so I know who is new and who is not.

When I started getting my chicks and eggs from breeders I stuck to the people who were very prominant in the club and that served me well.

Asking a breeder how long they have been involved with a particular breed is a very good question to ask.

That baby could be blue. I get a lot of blue babies with the yellow markings just like that one. They eventually get all blue.

Hope this helps!

D73, I regret to inform you that is not a Blue Wheaten Ameraucana. I only raise, breed, and show the WBS Ameraucana variety so I can't help you as to whether it's another variety or not but I can assure you it is not a Blue Wheaten.

God Bless,
