I read all the posts, but I must have missed something.

The ebay ad says 8+ Ameraucana eggs, but you original post shows only 7- did one or more break in shipping to you?

it was for 6+ she shipped 1 extra

edit: Because my auction already ended and I couldn't find a link for it, I used a similar one. Only difference is the amount.

Well I have not had any blue or black or splash chicks looks like that either in Amercuana LF and Bantams nor in Orps of both LF and BF.

The only thing we can do is to wait and see how this chick developed. Only time will tell!

I agree, time will tell about the chick.

The chick in post 43 has a restricted down colour which resembles mottled pattern. I've also seen similar on the occasional het mottled chick. I can't see it actually being mottled as there would be no reason for a mottled bird to be near those breeds.

When I bred blue & green egg layers in UK the Cream Legbars, in particular, later in the season, would lay eggs which were so pale that they were embarrassing. They could only distinguished from white eggs when alongside. In my experience blue or green eggs get lighter & darker but I have never experienced one to go from blue to green or green to blue.
