Blue Andalusian thread!

Pics
It looks like I'm the proud papa of two blue andalusians. I ordered a "hatchery surprise" this year just for the heck of it. We got A LOT of blue birds. Two blue silkies, three blue laced red wyandottes, several EE's (at least I think EE's) with blue....and these other two blue birds that I couldn't identify.

At first I thought blue hamburg but then a single comb popped up. Then it took me about 6 weeks to decide whether they were andalusians or orpingtons. I"m pretty sure they are andalusians.

At 6 weeks, they barely have a comb, only a nub of a waddle and their ear lobe is just skin. Is it safe to say I have two pullets? Would the cockerels have bigger comb/waddle/lobe by now?

i think you got lucky unless you wanted roos :)
day 41 - blue andalusian cockerel and a splash pullet

C&w. thx for posting the pic. I definitely have two pullets....maybe three! I'm fine with pullets. We will likely breed our show birds for next year but our hatchery surprise included mating groups of bluff brahma, brown leghorns and blue laced red wyandottes. Surely we can breed a nice bird from that mix. I really don't want that many Roos around the place.....

Also of note, your splash looks similar to one I had identified as a white leghorn. It looked just like the white leghorn photos as a chick but is starting to get a little blue in her head and neck with a few random blue feathers on her body. This means I may have two blue and one splash,

It actually may be hard to tell white leghorn from a light colored Andalusian They have similar body shapes, personalities and combs. They both lay white eggs. We got five brown leghorns in our surprise...two Roos and three pullets.

The Replacements have arrived! Yay! Hoping for better this time around. Went to the poultry show in Ventura and was amazed at how Large the LF really are! Very excited about my project, my daughter got very excited and was asking all kinds of questions, lol which is good because I signed her up for the club. Here are some of the blues at the show
