Blue Andalusian thread!

He looks pretty good. It's hard to tell size but he's still just a baby. Those green feathers shining on his shoulders catch the sun just right and show you he is carrying at least a little bit of lacing. Now, if you have a splash girl that has some laced feathers too, you'll be set to try your hand at one of the hardest colors to get right. Good luck and welcome to Andalusians!

I got an incubator this year for Mother's Day and I haven't used it yet. Truth be told, I've been a little nervous to do it. I'm afraid I'll make a mistake.

I guess I'd better get it up and running and get used to it before spring.

Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. There's a lot of information on this website about incubating. Probably some misinformation too. Ronott1 is a good instructor in these things.

Before its time to use the bator, get a good thermometer (digital) that reads in tenths of degrees in addition to full numbers. You also need a good hygrometer (measures humidity) with Florida being very humid, you might have to make some modifications to the recommended 65% humidity. There probably are some people in Florida who are very experienced at hatching that could help you along in that specific locale.

You have many months til spring is on your doorstep. You don't need to get it up and running yet. Just get good thermometer/hygrometers and then when spring is almost here, then you can start warming it up. Some people recommend putting eggs in the first time that you don't really care that much about before you get it down. Then put in the eggs that are more important to you.
