Blue/Brown Eggs, Easter/Christmas Eggs - Getting my craft on!!

what brand are the pinecone rub ons??

I don't really remember. They were all stapled together, so I cut the top (with the brand) off to separate the sheets. Sorry! They were my favorite too. They stuck like glue and rarely ripped compared to the others I had. Wish I had thought to check!

Spoke too soon. I googled them and here they are:

Great source share, thanks!

Help, I need someone to hold my hand for sealing! I got my beautiful first eggs from 5 of my 7 original hens blown out beautifully. Got the rub ons on without too much difficulty and not a single broken egg. Now I'm on to sealing them with modge podge, and I'm just not quite sure how far to go. For some reason this is the most stressful step for me (aside from blowing them out), maybe it was the smallish cracking sounds a few of the eggs made as they pressed ever so slightly against the toothpick poles I've made to help me get an even coat on without finger prints. I'm just so scared of breaking one of these eggs since they are my first eggs (and 3 of the girls are no longer with us, by choice but still those eggs are special because there will never be another one from that girl ever). How many coats do most of you use? I do have some clear spray paint that I am going to use as a top coat...so do I need to apply more than one coat of the modge podge? How long should I wait between coats? I know the directions say 15 minutes, but then is it like paint where if you wait longer than those first 15 minutes then it's better to wait several hours until it's completely dry to apply the next coat?

I use one THIN coat of MP and that's plenty. I brush on one end first and then (with 2 toothpicks that I have taped together, end-to-end) I insert the toothpick and stick it into a paper egg carton so the egg is like a lollipop on top. Then I brush the other end. No fingerprints that way!

I stuck toothpicks into floral foam block and stuck the egg over the toothpick, then sprayed them with a clear sealer. Done!

Thanks guys! I managed to get the important eggs sealed without fingerprints in the sealer (we'll not discuss the storebought egg with the crappy plastic rub ons that got blue ink on my fingers when I had to put it back on the tooth pick after it fell off, and the ink that transferred from my fingers onto one of my good eggs but is thankfully not that visible). Tomorrow I will use the spray sealer to keep the tackiness at bay, then put the ornament caps on and be done with it. Oh, and get those pictures to post here.

has anyone thought about getting the kabob sticks since they are long enough to go through and still have some length to hold? just curious if they worked or if they are too large in diameter to fit into the holes in the eggs?

I'm sure we've all had our fair share of "Oops" eggs...lol. I've spent time scratching rub-ons OFF with my fingernails, cracked eggs trying to poke holes through, dropped one egg that was almost finished and beautiful, and have obvious brush strokes in my modge podge in a few. It's all part of the learning process

CM - I believe someone way back in this thread mentioned kabob spears as how they supported their eggs. I need to get some. I used wire (actually had a string of eggs on one wire - supported horizontally, like a clothes line), but think the kabob sticks would work best.
