Blue/Brown Eggs, Easter/Christmas Eggs - Getting my craft on!!

I just get the tack where I want it and push real hard but try not to crush the egg in my other hand. I have done that befor.

After I get the hole made I kind of chip at it a little to get it bigger. Still get cracks sometimes and they never look real pretty but I figure it does not matter if I am going to cover them with a bead or something like that. I have a dremmel (SP) with a diamond tip bit that makes perfect round holes but just too lazy to get it out. Not a power tool kind of person I guess.

I half way thought of keeping the eggs on the wires and making it a center piece ya know like modern art? LOL

you could make a nice arrangement out of wires and a vase like that... or make the wires come out of a vase and curl so that the eggs could be hung from the curl.. like a dozen in various levels....

bet you could sell them at a craft show like that.. or at a chicken swap...

you dont blow them out with the syringe you "suck " out the egg..

I probably should have said that before??

I have actually been holding the egg with the hole down and pushing air into it with the needle...then all the insides come out b/c of the pressure. It's worked great so far (now that I have a bigger syringe!) and I haven't had any explode.

I do that as well. With the thumb tacks, when I push it into the egg, I twist it side to side so the tact can sort of 'drill' into the egg instead of relying on just pressure to break through. It's really hard to get a hole in an egg without getting a few small chips or cracks right at the hole, but for me it's nothing that I can't cover up with something. To make the hole bigger, I just poke around the hole to chip off more bits of shell.
