Blue/Brown Eggs, Easter/Christmas Eggs - Getting my craft on!!

LOL I know exactly what those egg decorting dreams are like. When I need to make an egg for someone or I have part of an idea for an egg I will think about it constantly until one night it comes to me while I am dreaming. That is how I think of all my designs!!!! I think you are doing a great job on your first cut egg. I have friends who do very intricate carving on the eggs with the dremel, so it can be done, but I don't like the vibrations in it. For craft shows I always put my egg in boxes, with tissue paper. I don't want my eggs to be broken before they get them home. So I buy boxes and put them in them, then in a bag. And that reminds me I have to get more boxes!!!!!!! LOL

I finally have a photo to show of a few eggs.

I would love if someone could help me with a problem I'm having.

- With some of the glittery, plastic rub-ons-the edges come up when I spray them with the acrylic spray. So, I bought some of the Triple Thick brush on gloss glaze. What is the best way to apply it? Thick coat? Thin coat? It says not to overwork it-hard for me to do...I just want it to come out right without having to mess with it anymore!

These eggs may get the better of me!!! I figure that if I am ever lucky enough to sell any for $6.00 each-that after supply expenses I could make about $4.00 in profit each-but my labor would end up being worth about .25 an hour.

Thanks for any advice,

Hey, Neighbor!
I had the same problem with some of mine. I think spraying several thin coats, and letting them dry in between, helped with mine. Yours look great!

Those are beautiful!!!
Light coats of spray at first. Even my painted eggs will try to run/bleed if I get heavy-handed with the clear-coat.
I broke down and bought out HobbyLobby section of rub-ons. Very disappointed, at least half are dried up and won't stick and a great part of the ones that start 'rubbing-on' leave me with a half-decorated egg, and the rest of the transfer, just doesn't. Leaves me to scrape the partial transfer and try again, or scrap the egg .

Allot of people glue their stickers on to make sure the edges stay down. I use class a peels only because they stick really well but so many places don't use them. I would use light coats and put a few on the egg myself.

Where do you find these rub-ons? That is the challenge for me. I just can not find nice ones that work.

The link I sent you isn't working April??

The link did work. I ordered $50 worth - waiting for them to come. But I can not find the word ones that will stay on. They all seem too long. Did you order them from that same place?

I think I will try the silver and gold paint though.

I did and got the most beautiful gold words ever-so EASY to apply almost too easy...words like "peace" hope-love-joy etc.... so pretty
