Bob Blosl is gone

Dear Bob is gone way too soon. Unlike some others, he was so willing to share his wealth of knowledge with others and gave of himself freely. Years ago, I remember reading articles he'd written then later, he was actively participating on BYC-such a gift! He recently gave me some sage advice on a particular breeding goal, which I will take to heart. RIP, dear man. So many will miss you.

I'm away at a show. So sorry to hear this news Bob was a good friend. .I am so sorry to hear about his passing. I will let the people who knew him attending this show about our loss of a poultry great.

I am shocked and saddened. I only spoke with Bob once on the phone but so enjoyed his posts and his humor. He helped so many people, including me, make the transition from hatchery to heritage fowl. So sad, what a loss to us all.

Wow! My heart is very sad. I was just down stairs washing chickens, a feat Bob's thread has empowered me to do. It's amazing how much Bob's thread has really become a part of my everyday. I feel a very big loss, coming as an unimagined surprise. I'm so very grateful for the role model that Bob is. May he sleep in the arms of Christ and His most Holy Mother.

This is certainly sad news. Checked in for our show this weekend and made mental notes to bring a camera because I knew Bob (and others) would want to see some of the birds being shown this weekend. Well, I guess the edge is gone off of that but I'll still take pictures to post.

I'll really miss his encouragement and willingness to help. KISS

oh man this is horrible. So sad to hear about this for all the poultry world as well as for his wife and family. I saw an article just a couple weeks ago in a magazine that he wrote and thought, oh he's on BYC and I had to sit there and read it. It was on heritage chickens. Just so sad!

I've just spent the last few hours on the phone - across the United States with various people on this thread AND another forum because of 1 meeting that Bob had set up to take place today. (A poultry delivery of course) Both ends were scrambling around attempting to figure out who was involved in this "deal". It truly is amazing. What a wonderful thing we all have that we can come together and discuss poultry for hours and not even have met before. I think that Bob would have got a kick out of that. May we continue to work on our poultry together as Bob would have wanted.

Yellow House, Bob was and is very proud of you!

I just got word of the passing of Bob Blosl. I did not know him personally but in the last few weeks he and I had been sending PM back and forth on the breeding plans of my Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks. He was truly a great poultry breeder that was not afraid to share his poultry breeding knowledge. He will be greatly missed.

I have been following and reading and learning so much from Bob and so many others on his thread. I am so sorry I never got to know him. But I did respect him! RIP Bob

I was just catching up on reading the Heritage LF thread, and his post about how excited he was as a teenager learning from some of the best poultry judges! And then finding his breeding pen ideas on the American Java Breeders website. I now wish I would have let him know I found his breeding pen ideas to be so simple and easy!

Shocked in his passing!

God speed Bob, you will be missed by so many!!!!! And thank you for your wisdom and letting your light shine here!
